A few weeks ago, I ended up going to hear Aaron Lewis play a show.  He played at a local bar named Johnny & June’s.  It was a nice surprise.  I was on the way to eat dinner when some friends called to see if I was interested in going.  Of course I was….  I was a big Staind fan(for those of you that dont know…that is the band he made it in) so I was excited about going to hear him play.

I knew that Aaron Lewis was playing country music now, but was not familiar with any of it.  I like country plus Aaron Lewis, so how could it be a bad combo!  The show was at a local Honky Tonk.  I prefer to see shows at smaller venues if at all possible.

The show was really good.  As I said earlier, it was at a smaller venue which made for a good show. Anyways, I took some pics with my iPhone.  Check them out, and hope you enjoy!

Back Yard Chickens

As many of my readers know me, and those that continue to read my posts get to know me….One thing you will figure out.  I get a crazy idea from time to time and Im not scared to act on them.  Usually when I get one, I call my buddy Ryan, who has just a many crazy ideas, and he tells me how good of an idea it is.  Then I have my fiancée who then tells me I have bumped my head, and how that idea is CRAZY.

Anyways, my lovely fiancee goes on a girls trip one weekend and guess what?  Thats right… I get one of my ideas.  I want to build a backyard chicken coupe.  Do I know anything about chickens?  No…..  Have I ever had chickens?  No…..  Who do I call?  Thats right I call my buddy Ryan, who confirms that it is a good idea.  Does he say its a good idea?  Yes…..  I skip calling Amanda….Its better to ask for forgiveness then permission….. right?

So off to Lowes Home Improvement Ryan & I are off to.  We have no plans, just some pictures of some coupes we liked off the internet.  We get wood, supplies, etc, and we are building a coupe!  As we start to build the coupe it decides to rain…HARD.  Was this a sign from above? Nah……  A little rain isnt going to hurt Ryan and me!  We won’t melt, we maybe could float though!  We work on the chicken coupe Sat & Sunday and put the finishing touches on it the next Saturday.

So without further ado……..

 Here is a side view of my what I call the “Chicken Mansion”.  Tin roof with some white trim my buddy had laying around the house.  I think it looks pretty good.

 Here is a shot of the inside nesting boxes.  Maybe put them a little high…..As I said earlier, Neither of us are chicken experts!

 Here it is all Painted up and finished.  Didn’t  turn out too bad for two knuckle heads! I think the red looks good with the white door and trim.  I also like the tin roof on it.  Gives it a nice look.

 Above is my first chicken…..Oh Im sorry thats not a chicken!  Thats Amanda! haha  What is she doing in the coupe?  Here chicky chicky chicky!!!

Oh yeah…..On Amandas return from her girls trip…To put it lightly… she wasnt as excited as me about the coupe.  Needless to say…I havent been left by my lonesome for awhile.  But she has another girls weekend planned in a few months.  Wonder what she will come back to next?

 An easy identifier is…..Yoga Pants.  They wear them everywhere! Grocery store, gym, club…..everywhere!  Are you wearing yoga pants now?  Hey white girl!

 They take pics with their friends and label them #Besties.  Me & my #Bestie!  Is your camera roll filled with you and your #Bestie? Hey White Girl!

 Everything with them is a big ordeal….OMG! I cant believe she said that! #Drama  Can you? Get off your phone… Hey White Girl!

 Do you spot a group of girls running for the bathroom?  Are you and your friends always bombarding the bathroom?  Hey White Girl!

 Are you the one dancing looking like you are doing the Funky Chicken?  Hey white Girl!

 They are constantly taking #selfies….Making duck faces!  Put your phone down…& No I dont want to take your picture!  Hey White Girl!

 Are you addicted to Starbucks?  Can you not pass one of these without stopping?  Hey White Girl!

Awesomesauce Challenge-Rembrandt Triangle

I found another photo challenge that caught my interest, so I decided to participate.  I guess Im an “unofficial” member.  I dont have a Facebook, so Im just going to follow along and post on my blog.  The challenge is named Awesomsauce Winter Photo Challenge.  I included the link just in case you are interested.  It has different challenges each week and tips on how to achieve them.  The overall goal to grow as a photographer.  Anyways if you are interested check it out.  I know this isnt this weeks challenge, but I couldnt resist giving it a try.  I am working on this weeks “Prism Challenge.”   Oh yeah…Thanks to Camile Teresa Photography for sharing this with me!  Check out her photos, they are Awesome!
